My Freedom Is Gone.

The proclivity of fascism, power, and greed has reckoned with the American people. The times when we were truly free were nonexistent; Black and Brown communities still suffered under Black Codes and modern-day Jim Crow. We wonder if we will end up on the news, as a hashtag, on a poster board, or as the subject of a protest. Freedom truly never existed. Oppression never faded—it shapeshifted.
They proclaimed the American Dream, yet paradoxically kill innocent people, strip inherent rights from American citizens, destroy generational communities, strip the dignity of immigrants, tear families apart, and create havoc. What we are now living through mirrors post-Nazi Germany, and it will not stop if we, as the people, do not come together and fight for our democracy and freedom.

You do not need permission to voice your opinion, nor do you need to change your platform to speak about causes that oppose inhumane actions and human rights violations, including the killing of Keith Port while he was celebrating New Year’s Eve like the rest us, and Renée Nicole Good, who was stand ing for her community and was shot and killed in broad daylight. If a white woman can be shot in broad daylight, the anyone who stands against this ruthless and authoritarian administration—who interests lie with itself and it’s party—is at risk

I am telling you now: we are living under an authoritarian regime that will only expand its agenda if the people do not stand together with solidarity and power, and challenge a government that suppresses us. Freedom is only guaranteed when everyone is free—but until that day comes, we will never truly be free.
